If you’ve been needing an easy weekend trip that feels fun but not overcomplicated, this is your sign to plan one to Valdosta. We partnered with Visit Valdosta for the weekend, and it ended up being one of those trips where everything just worked. Good food, good drinks, a little nostalgia, and just enough chaos to keep it fun.
And don’t worry, even if you’re not going during a festival weekend, this itinerary still works. I’ve got swaps for you.

Friday: Check-In, Dinner, and a Night Out
We rolled into town Friday afternoon and checked into The Cranford Hotel which was the perfect home base. It had that boutique feel but still really comfortable for a girls trip. The rooms are apartment style so its very spacious, and has a full kitchen for breakfast or lunch in.
Dinner was at The Bistro and this was one of those meals where we ordered way too much and didn’t regret it for a second. We got the Vidalia Onion Dip, Greek Pizzati, Seared Ahi Tuna, and Caprese Salad. Everything was so good but the onion dip was probably my favorite.

If you are in town during the Valdosta Bluesberry Festival, definitely walk over after dinner to shop, listen to music, and just enjoy the energy.
If you’re not visiting during a festival weekend, here are a few easy swaps that still give you a fun Friday night:
- Catch a local show at Dosta Playhouse
- Go for something a little competitive at Skoll Axe Throwing
- Or head to Downtown Social for drinks, games, and a vibe
No matter what you pick, end your night at Oak & Olive for drinks because I’m still thinking about those cocktails.

Saturday: Coffee, Throwback Vibes, and Exploring Town
We started Saturday slow with coffee and breakfast from Gud Coffee and I need to talk about that brown butter caramel latte for a second. It was easily one of the best lattes I’ve had in a long time and I would go back just for that.

Then we headed to Wild Adventures which was honestly such a full circle moment for me. My family used to come here all the time growing up and I hadn’t been back in probably 15 years. This year marks 30 years of the park which made it feel even more special.

We did a little bit of everything. Rode roller coasters, explored the animal exhibits, and did the feeding experience where we fed giraffes, alligators, fish, and birds. Yes, feeding a giraffe is just as cool as it sounds.

After a full park day we went back to the hotel to get ready for the evening.
If you’re in town during the Valdosta Bluesberry Festival, this is the perfect time to head back, walk through downtown, grab food truck snacks, and catch more live music.
If not, you can still recreate the same vibe:
- Spend time shopping and walking around downtown Valdosta
- Do a progressive dinner with apps, drinks, and desserts from different spots
- Or go back to Downtown Social for games and a fun group night
We kept it casual for dinner with things like Polish sausage and loaded fries, then grabbed beers from Georgia Beer Company which is such a good hangout spot to wind down the night.
Sunday: Slow Morning and One Last Stop
Sunday morning we packed up, checked out, and started heading home but made one last stop at Fancy Girl Farms.
This was the cutest little stop for lunch, coffee, and of course plant shopping because we physically cannot go anywhere without bringing something home. It was the perfect slow ending to the weekend before getting back on the road.

Final Thoughts
This trip was the perfect mix of planned and go with the flow. Valdosta is one of those places that surprises you in the best way. There’s enough to do to fill your weekend but it still feels easy and relaxed, whether you go during a festival or not.
If you’re planning a girls trip, couples trip, or just need a quick getaway from North Georgia or Metro Atlanta, add this one to your list.
And if you go, I need to know what you order at The Bistro and if you agree about that latte at Gud Coffee.
